2021/08/29

The Chair of Management Science / Operations Research will offer a master's seminar entitled “E-Commerce supply chains: The current state of research” in the winter term 2021/22.

Seminar description:

The topic of the seminar is planning problems in the supply chains of e-commerce retailers. These are discussed on the basis of current research articles in the field of OR. Participants work in small groups (up to 4 students per group) on specific planning problems based on the articles provided. Each group tackles one paper to be studied in depth.

For each paper, a case of application, the planning problem itself, as well as one small extension of the optimization model need to be presented. Results are first presented to all participants in a seminar presentation. Here, the results are discussed (so-called friendly revision).

The results on the planning problem and potential new findings resulting from the discussion are then summarized in a seminar paper (approx. 25 pages per group).

Attention:

Prior knowledge in Operations Research required! It is recommended that only students who have successfully completed the basic module Operations Research and/or the master module Warehousing & Delivery Logistics apply for the seminar.

Application:

Via the central seminar allocation.
